Louise increased energy from personal training |

Bruce,
Since completing an intensive 12 week personal training program with you I feel incredibly balanced, fit, positive and invigorated!
I’m just so grateful that I have taken this amazing opportunity and ‘ran’ with it! Thankyou for being so supportive, communicative, positive and challenging - all characteristics which instil success in others. Thankyou for sharing your volumes of knowledge about fitness and nutrition- this advice and info will stay with me always.
I really enjoyed (usually!) the physical and mental workout every Saturday morning. The sessions have brought a real sense of balance to my life and the way that I view my world. The homework you set was achievable and challenging. You were very accommodating and flexible when modifying my workouts in order to create new, interesting alternatives to cardio and weights exercise.
Prior to becoming a member of Serious Fitness I struggled through some major life challenges which had led to an extreme feeling of helplessness and sadness. My smoking and alcohol consumption was higher than it ever had been. My sleep patterns had been severely disrupted for the previous 3 months and I had some rather serious negative ideas about my life and the options and possibilities which lay ahead.
Since fitness and health have become a more pivotal focus in my life, my life seems to have taken the most interesting, inspiring changes! I’ll be travelling to India at the end of the year to do volunteer work – a dream that I have had for the past 4 years and had previously found every possible reason to sabotage following through with the plan. I’ve also been researching the options of studying Honours in Psychology next year. I’ll be applying for these courses late October. I now invest more time and energy in my own personal growth - In the last 3 months I have learnt that it is ok (and really healthy) to have work-life balance. Previously I invested an insane amount of myself into my work- This led me to lose clarity about what life is all about. Never before had I zipped out of work as quickly as possible to go for a swift jog before dusk! The final aspect that I still need to sort out and balance is my occasional unusual perceptions and behaviour toward foods with a high sugar/fat content.
I frequently consider your reference to the book ‘Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway’ whereby people’s capabilities are hindered/enhanced by their negative/positive mental dialogue. It has been such a growth period for me throughout the last few months to actually truly believe in my own capabilities to run in a 10 km race and step outside my comfort zone in so many other ways.
Just over a week ago I ran the 10 km race I had been aiming to complete. My first major achievement during the race was combating my negative internal dialogue- I truly believed in myself that I could not only finish the race but finish it in a reasonable time. Although I had never run a 10km race during my training I believed that I could achieve a time of approximately 55 - 56 minutes. My second major achievement- Dashing through that finishing line on 50 minutes 30 seconds was one hell of an invigorating experience!
The training has allowed me to believe in myself and go for it- even if it seems a little outrageous at first!
A big thankyou to you – especially for your positive and consistent support.
Louise
