Serious Fitness is a personal training and fitness studio based in Coburg, Melbourne, with regular bootcamp classes held in Coburg, Bulleen and Carlton. Our services include, one-on-one personal training, group personal training and group exercise classes including, Bootcamp, Powercise (like Zumba), Lean Ladies and Knockout - a mixed martial arts based program to get your heart pumping. Our focus is on creating great base fitness, getting results, improving your nutrition, all while having some serious fun!

Winter Training Tips

Here are some great ideas on how to keep motivated and active during Winter.

  • Join an exercise group like Boot Camp. Not only is it fun, but it is extremely motivating.? Exercising alone can be boring and adding variety to your exercise regime can put the spark back into training.? Meeting up with a group means that you are compelled to turn up, rather than thinking, "I'll do it tomorrow."
  • Add layers of clothing. Simple things like putting on a beanie, gloves or a scarf make a huge difference to exercising outdoors.? You'll be warm and toasty in no time.
  • Exercise indoors. If it is too dark outside and it is raining, then you might want to consider hiring a treadmill or stationary bike during the Winter months? Make sure you have a plan and stick to it as good intentions don't get you results!? Having a treadmill or a bike is great, but if it becomes some kind of storage area for your ironing, then you are not going to get anywhere!!!
  • Get out of Bed! I know that it is warm and toasty under the covers, but as you start to exercise, you'll warm up anyway.? Set the alarm an extra 10 minutes earlier, that way you'll have time to coax yourself out of those warm blankets!
  • Be ready for Summer. Exercising now will mean that you won't have to work hard all Summer to do the whole panic/crash diet thing!?
  • Set yourself a goal. Then reach for it!? Stay focused and you will be amazed at what you can achieve.
  • Stop Procrastinating! If the weather is your excuse for not exercising, then you need a swift kick up the err....(you know what I mean!!)? NOTHING is more important than your health.? Without it, you cannot work, you cannot do anything!? Take it from a person who spent a year lying in bed unable to lift her arm up to feed herself due to chronic fatigue.? Your health is your most important asset.? Don't take it for granted!
