Windmill Push Ups
You can get a drink with a twist of lemon or see a movie with a twist at the end but this month we are doing…………………………………………………………………………..PUSH UPS WITH A TWIST aka Windmill Push ups
Starting in the normal push up position with your hands placed about shoulder width apart.
Lower the body so it is parallel to the ground and then push your body back up.
When you get to the top you then extend one arm out and twist your body so that your extended hand is reaching upwards and your body is facing the wall.
Bring the extended arm back down onto the ground and then lower the body so that both arms are at 90 degrees.
Pushing up again and this time extend the other arm upwards.
This might seem like an awkward exercise in the beginning, but you will get used to it in no time.
The muscles involved with this movement are the chest, shoulders and triceps, the twisting movement will also work your abdominals or core muscles.
NOTE: If you have any shoulder or wrist issues then this can be modified by NOT extending your arm so high or doing the exercise on your knees.
