Serious Fitness is a personal training and fitness studio based in Coburg, Melbourne, with regular bootcamp classes held in Coburg, Bulleen and Carlton. Our services include, one-on-one personal training, group personal training and group exercise classes including, Bootcamp, Powercise (like Zumba), Lean Ladies and Knockout - a mixed martial arts based program to get your heart pumping. Our focus is on creating great base fitness, getting results, improving your nutrition, all while having some serious fun!

Thai Chicken Burgers

Fire up the BBQ and put these delicious burgers on!  This family friendly recipe is great for the kids but if you are watching your waistline, then enjoy these tasty burgers minus the bun!

 

Ingredients

400g minced chicken breast

1 tablespoon lemongrass, chopped

¼ cup fresh coriander, chopped

1 teaspoon minced ginger

2 cloves garlic, crushed

1 teaspoon finely grated lime/lemon rind

1 egg white

 

Method

Place the chicken mince, lemongrass, coriander, ginger, garlic, lime rind and egg white in a large bowl.  Mix well to combine.  Divide the mixture into portion sizes and shape into patties.  (The burgers can be frozen at this point for later if you want to get prepared for the week.)

 

Preheat grill to medium-high heat and grill for approximately 5minutes each side or until cooked through.

 

Serve burgers with some stir-fried vegetables, fresh green salad or in a toasted multigrain bun with some salad!

 

Serves 4

Substitute:  Chicken for fish or pork.

Per serving (without bun): 143cals, 603kJ, 21g protein, 3g fat, 7g carbohydrates, 0g fibre
