The Advanced Plank
Many of you have heard of the plank or the hover hold.This advanced version now incorporates almost every muscle group in your body.
Great news if you are trying to lose weight as the more muscles that you use during an exercise, the more calories that you burn.
1.Start facing down with both forearms on the ground and your body hovering off the ground supported by your toes.
2.Lift your left arm off the ground and at the same time your right leg. Hold this position for a count of 5 to 10
3.Lower and then swap to the right arm and left leg and hold for a further count of 5 to 10.
Remember that at Boot Camp the 5 to 10 may drag out just a little longer.
This technique works the core of your body much more but subsequently can put more stress on the shoulder joints, so if you have a shoulder injury, then be careful.
This exercise can be done on the knees for those people who don’t quite have the strength.
